Grade II Listed Georgian
House in Hampstead
Tasked with the renovation of a Grade II*-listed Georgian townhouse in Hampstead—the former home of legendary landscape painter John Constable—we welcomed the opportunity to blend historical reverence with a deeply personal, contemporary way of living.
Working alongside Flower Michelin Architects to navigate complex heritage permissions, we reimagined the five-story property to perfectly suit the daily rhythms of its owners, a young couple who embraced both the building’s storied past and its unique architectural character.
From relocating the kitchen to the lower-ground floor to create an inviting, garden-connected hearth, to introducing a soft, painterly palette of sage, blush, and ochre, every space was thoughtfully considered. Filled with a curated mix of bespoke craftsmanship, antiques, and unexpected contemporary touches—including a commissioned graffiti mural—the finished home is a beautifully layered, evolving sanctuary that honours its artistic roots while remaining effortlessly liveable.
