Howark Design is an Interior Design and Architectural Consultancy studio based in West London specialising in residential projects across the UK and further afield. From historical renovations to contemporary family homes, Howark Design creates interiors that are characterful and timeless with an emphasis on practical and charming design .
Recognised for its bold and joyful interiors, the Studio was named one of Country and Townhouses’s 50 Finest Interior Designers in both 2022 and 2023 and House and Garden magazine’s Top 20 Up and Coming Designers in 2021.
James Arkoulis and Saskia Howard founded Howark Design in 2017, combining over 20 years experience at London’s most prestigious design practices. Having worked on a wide range of residential and commercial projects, both in the UK and internationally, they share a focus on beautifully detailed design and a personal approach to each project.

Interior Design
The interior design is at the heart of all our projects and covers the furniture, soft furnishing, decorative lighting, wall finishes and specialist finishes. Building on the architectural palette, the furnishing is an opportunity to really reflect a clients personality and interests while adding character, comfort and interest. All furniture and fixtures are carefully chosen to complement the overall scheme and are tailored to each project. We work closely with makers in the UK and abroad to create bespoke furniture and one of kind pieces for each project, from hand painted wallpapers to bespoke glazed tiles we ensure that the finished interior is absolutely perfect for our clients.
Interior Architecture
Interior Architecture refers to the design of all the fixed elements of the interior spaces. We provide a comprehensive service from spatial planning to specification of architectural finishes and full joinery design. Well considered Interior architecture that incorporates the highest level of detailing and carefully selected materials provides the perfect back drop for the interior design elements. The layout and flow of a property is just as important as the finish and furnishing and combining our experience in both allows us to realise projects that are fully considered and a pleasure to live in.
Project Management and Coordination
We believe that creating the homes of our client’s dreams should be an enjoyable experience. For projects that involve construction works we can provide a full project management service to coordinate everything on our clients behalf. We oversee the implementation of the design during the construction phase with regular site visits and meetings, ensuring that we deal with any issues that arise along the way and that communication is clear throughout to ensure projects run smoothly.
International Projects
Having worked in Europe and the US, Howark Design has the experience to manage successful projects abroad from concept design through to installation. We understand the unique requirements of international projects and our excellent relationship with International suppliers and shippers allow us to offer a seamless service wherever your property may be.
